Masanori Kobayashi

Director

Born and raised in Nagano, Japan, Masanori Kobayashi graduated from high school in 1997 and subsequently moved to Southern California to attend Chapman University to study film.

While attending Chapman, Kobayashi wrote and directed a sci-fi action short titled "Zero" which was nominated Best Short at the B-Theater Film Festival in New York. He also garnered recognition for his editing talents after completing work on the comedy short "Steak and Eggery" which won Best Film at the 2001 Chapman University Film Festival.

After graduating from Chapman with a B.S. degree in Film, he worked in and around Los Angeles as a freelance editor and director for a number of independent films. During this time, he directed the short film "A Day of A Cowardly Girl," which won Best Film at the 1st Annual Little Theatre Fesitival.

In 2003, Kobayashi returned to Japan to join Just Cause Productions where he has been extensively involved as an editor, writer, director and producer on a number of projects, including Devil May Cry 3, Dead Rising, and Resident Evil 5.

Most recently, Kobayashi worked as a cinematics director for "Lost Planet 2" (PS3/XBOX360).
